Influenza (FLU)
The flu is also caused by one or more of hundreds of viruses. While having many of the
symptoms of the common cold, the flu is usually more severe in action, causing greater
discomfort. While few people die of colds flu complications are responsible for more
than 200,000 hospital stays per year and results in tens of thousands of deaths
(primarily in the elderly).
Because of its seriousness, thousands of people are frightened into
getting a flu vaccination each year. Unfortunately, flu vaccinations
present their own problems and are either useless, or cause their own
problems.
First of all, the strain of flu in a vaccination may or may not be the actual
flu that is infecting the population in a given year. Each cold and flu
season the world health organization selects the flu strain used in
vaccinations for that season. It may not be the same flu that is infecting
the greatest number of people. The Centers for Disease control and Prevention recommends that everyone 6 month and older should get vaccinated every
year. This recommendation is the same even when the vaccine composition remains
unchanged from the previous year and a new strain of flu virus is the cause of sickness.
Most vaccines only help those who don't need the help. For instance, the theory behind
vaccinations is to introduce a small sample of the dead virus into the body. This is
supposed to stimulate the immune system to set up a defense against that virus. In a
healthy body, the immune system does create antibodies. But for those with weakened
immunity, the flu shot itself becomes the method of infection. The weakened immune
system cannot produce the desired antibodies and the shot may actually cause the flu
that is trying to be prevented.
Finally, the vaccination itself may inflict its own danger. Information was recently
presented to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that the 2009 H1N1 flu
vaccination contained ingredients that actually caused a 700 percent increase in
miscarriages compared to previous years. Dr. Marie McCormick, Chair person of the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Vaccine Risks and Assessment
Working Group reported that there were no problems caused by the vaccine. So, the
2010/11 vaccine will contain the same ingredients and will continue to be recommended
to pregnant women. Reports of the dangers of this particular flu vaccination are
available on line.
While determining if the flu vaccination is for you, it would be wise to investigate it
thoroughly before making a final decision. Remedies and prevention for the flu are the
same as for the common cold. Prevention is the best cure which can be increase with
immune support before the virus infects.
Tonsils are lymph nodes that reside in your throat. Their purpose is to help protect the
body by filtering out bacteria and foreign invaders that enter our bodies by what we take
internally. However, they can become swollen and inflamed if overwhelmed by the
amount of bacteria or other toxins coming into the body. Strep throat is one cause.
Fungus or parasites can also cause tonsillitis.
Some of the symptoms of Tonsillitis are:
-Difficulty swallowing
-Ear pain
-Fever, chills
-Headache
-Sore throat that is lasting longer than 48 hours
-Tenderness of the jaw and throat
-Voice changes, loss of voice
-Cold or Flu like symptoms
When the tonsils become inflamed they are usually red and may have some white
spotting on them. Also the neck area may be tender to touch and/or swollen. Other
symptoms that may come are bad breath, abdominal pain, blisters on the throat, loss of
appetite, drooling, nausea, and vomiting.
natural remedies for flu
• Salt gargles• Drinking plenty of fluid
• A mix of Cayenne pepper, Garlic, and Honey
• Herbs Myrrh gum, Boswellia, Astragalus
Most of the time, Tonsillitis can be cleared up with just a little help. Since it can be
caused by the same bacteria that cause Strep throat, using natural antibiotics (Garlic,
Onion) will help reduce the contagion time and aid the body in eliminating the
disease.
Only in cases of severe complications will the tonsils need to be removed, but only as a
last resort due to recurring infections, or an infection that is not responding to any kind
of treatment.
