Herbs for cough

cough is important defensive reflex that enhances clearance of secretion and particle from airways and protect lower airway from aspiration of foreign materials

We are going to deal with coughs in a couple of different ways.

First we will use an“anti-tussive” natural remedies

which means stopping a cough that is non-productive (no mucus)
without suppressing the functions of the body

Second we can use and “expectorant”natural remedies
that breaks up mucus. Remember, mucous is the body’s cleaner, but in this case
we have too much of it.

Use the following herbs right at the onset of a cough for best results. Use herbs along
with good nutrition, cell salts, and homeopathic medicines. They all can be used along
with antibiotics or other prescription medications. Just use common sense.
Remember to match your symptoms to the herb regardless of a “diagnosis”

Below is a good formula especially for children as they are gentle and effective. Use as
a tea or tincture. Use this formula or any of other herbs which may be helpful.

2 parts elecampane – my favorite for congestion, mucus, and digestive issues.
1 part red clover – works with congestion and mucus; moves the lymphatics.
1 part thyme – warming, spicy, dries up of excess mucus.

natural remedies for Whooping Coughs

Use a combination of the following herbs for whooping cough in capsule or powder for
maximum benefit, and adjust as your condition improves. This formula can be used in
all of the stages. Use equal parts of each. You may use it every hour when needed.
Therapeutic dose is equal to one capsule of each herb or 1 liquid dropper full of an
herbal tincture 3 times a day. Use a glycerin extract for small children or capsules for
adults.
Thyme herb is antimicrobial and protects the lungs as well as soothing the respiratory
tract.
Elecampane is an herb for whooping cough which acts as a mucus decongestant.
Echinacea herb boosts the immune system and acts as and antimicrobial to help with
whooping cough.
Add Cramp bark herb for spasms during whooping cough as needed

natural remedies of croup cough

Croup is a highly contagious respiratory virus. It affects children most seriously at ages
0 to 5. Croup is caused by contact with someone coughing or sneezing.
Symptoms of croup start out as a cold and progress to a barking cough or croupy
cough. It may cause hoarseness or loss of voice. In children their may be a fever.
From the medical perspective they can’t help a viral disease but may use steroidal
inhalers for emergency purposes while the body takes care of itself.
Children are at most risk usually when they have a poor diet of fast food or sugars.
Prevention is the best bet. They following herbs and other natural supplements will help
to strengthen the immune system and symptoms. The best results are using natural
substances at the start of the symptoms.
Natural Healing Protocol: Combining supplements will do more to support your body's
ability to function properly than using just one. Use the following remedies for best
results -- your ability to heal will depend on the severity and length of time your
symptoms have been present. Using cell salts will help with mineral deficiencies; also
use the appropriate homeopathic remedy.

roasted onion, a teaspoon with honey several times a day.
